Rock, Americana, Blues, Country
Based in Nashville, TN

James Gregory is a multifaceted singer-songwriter and performer whose music effortlessly blends elements of rock, Americana, blues, and country. Originally from Washington State, James relocated to Tennessee in 2016, immersing himself in the rich musical tapestry of Nashville. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of artists—including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden—his sound is a unique fusion that resonates with authenticity and passion.

A self-taught guitarist with a foundational understanding of music theory, James also possesses a degree in music production. His songwriting journey began with the blues, learning the 8 and 12-bar progressions that laid the groundwork for his evolving style. Over the years, he has honed his craft, performing at various venues and collaborating with fellow musicians to create compelling music that speaks to the soul.

James's discography includes notable tracks such as "Easy," recorded at Vibe King Studios in Nashville, and "No Way Out," a collaboration with Olin Wallace and Quentin Hall. He is currently working on an upcoming EP featuring the rock-infused "Bed of Roses," co-written with Wade Fitzgerald of Secret Social Club.

Beyond his musical endeavors, James maintains an active presence in the Nashville songwriting community, participating in events like the Stompin Grounds Writers Round and open mic nights at venues such as The Parlor and Amendment 18. His commitment to his craft and community underscores his dedication to the art of songwriting and performance.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Las Posadas! I know a lot has happened in the new year (some very tragic). My heart hurts for those effected during the New Year's Eve celebration in New Orleans. There's no easy segue from something so tragic to news about what I'm doing musically 531 miles north in Nashville. Just know you are on my heart and in my prayers. May we all lean more into God and on each other this year.-JG
